1. Input & Service Supply

Avocado farmers rely on specialized input providers:

Propagule/seedling suppliers: ARI-Uyole, SUA, Technoserve, MANO Plantation Group provide certified Hass and Fuerte avocado seedlings.

2. Production (Cultivation)

Local collectors: Village-level agents who buy small volumes from scattered smallholders.
Farmer groups & cooperatives: Organized associations providing collective marketing, bulking, and bargaining power (e.g., UWAMARU).
Out-grower schemes: Major exporters like Africado Ltd operate out-grower programs, supplying seedlings and buying back fruit.
Brokers/agents: Independent intermediaries connecting farmers to processors or exporters.

4. Processing & Packing

Post-harvest handling determines fruit quality and export viability:

Grading & sorting: Fruit is sorted by size, weight, and quality. Export-grade fruit must meet strict specifications.
Cold storage: Rapid cooling to 4-6°C extends shelf life and preserves quality during transport.
Ripening facilities: Some packhouses operate controlled ripening rooms for specific market orders.

5. Export & Logistics

Export logistics and cold chain management are critical for avocado:
